Safety and Security

 

For safety of all guests, all guests will undergo a security screening, including bag checks and magnetometers, before entry. All bags must adhere to the Clear Bag regulations. Intoxicated guests may not be admitted into the venue.

 

Below are more safety and security policies.

Service Animals

No pets or animals are permitted with the exception of certified service animals.

  • Cameras with removable lenses and flashes
  • Umbrellas
  • Coolers
  • Picnic baskets
  • Fireworks, chairs (folding or otherwise
  • Illegal drugs
  • Gifts for the artist/performer 
  • Laser pens and pointers
  • Noise-making devices
  • Non-clear bags
  • Musical instruments
  • Skateboards or skates
  • Motorized vehicles
  • Outside food and beverage
  • Video cameras or other recording devices
  • Weapons of any kind 
  • Drones
  • Posters, signage (unless approved by the artist) 
  • Personal property that is a potential hazard to others and any other items deemed inappropriate or dangerous by the City of Tuscaloosa are prohibited at Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater.

These items will have to be returned to your car or discarded a the entry gates. 

Clear Bag Policy

In the interest of public safety, the City of Tuscaloosa is implementing a clear bag policy for all public events held at Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater. This policy limits the size and types of bags allowed into the venue by patrons and staff. Beginning immediately, patrons will be able to carry the following style and size of bag into the facility:

  • Bags that are composed of a clear plastic or transparent vinyl material and are no larger than 12” x 12” x 8”. Logos are allowed, but may only be on one side of the bag.
  • Clear plastic re-sealable bags, no larger than one gallon, limit two per person.
  • Guests also will be able to carry other items allowed into the venue such as binoculars, point-and-shoot cameras (no removable lenses), and smart phones, but their cases/bags will not be allowed (items within the clear bag must be loose).

Exceptions will be made for bags required for medical needs upon proper inspection. All non-permissible bags must be removed from the Amphitheater grounds. Non-permissible bags or items will not be stored by the Amphitheater or allowed to remain on the grounds.

Smoking and Tobacco Use

Smoking, vaping or chewing tobacco are prohibited in the venue with the exception of the designated areas at the top of sections 201 and 205. Violation of this policy may result in expulsion.

Unverified Tickets

Event tickets purchased from a source other than the Amphitheater Box Office or Ticketmaster may not be honored for admission. The City of Tuscaloosa is not responsible for counterfeit tickets.

Re-Entry

Re-entry is generally prohibited. Guests who need to leave and re-enter should contact a guest services representative for assistance, and exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.

Inclement Weather

Events at Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater are held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, events may be postponed. Weather updates will be posted on social media channels – @mercedesbenzamp. The Amphitheater is not a lightning or tornado safe facility. 

Dress Code

Guests are required to dress appropriately. Shirt and shoes required.
